Kelly and Courtney were so much fun to work with. They helped us relax and made sure we were having fun, and the photos show it. Half the time, we couldn’t even tell they were there–the candid shots were some of our best photos.
The weather on the day of the engagement session was blustery, cold, and overcast: the exact opposite of what you’d imagine a perfect photo day to be like. But Kelly called us up, asked us to come a few hours early so that the light would be the best, and made us look fantastic.
Kelly and Courtney had biked in the area the day before, and scoped out a route of a couple blocks for us to wander down while they took pictures. The end destination was a beautiful doorway (it’s in the picture of Maria below), but there were so many fun places along the way–Kelly had us stop every few steps because she could see a wonderful picture using bits of ivy, a roadway, or some unusual architectural feature.
Kelly also took full advantage of our playful, unscripted moments.
And she made sure she got the shots we requested. I had to hold Maria up for a couple of minutes before taking this one, as a string of cars came along right after I picked her up. One of the cars honked at us as it drove by.
This one came out really well, considering Kelly was on the other side of a bush. It shows off the ring, too.
And one of me, just for good measure. If you’re in need of a wedding photographer, I can’t say enough about Kelly and Courtney. They were super flexible, willing to give as much advice as we’d listen to about outfits, poses, and photography in general, and were genuine, friendly, and fun to be around. Kelly and Courtney will be welcome guests at our wedding–not just to take pictures, but because they’re great people!
